Volunteer Ministries serves as a clearinghouse for service and mission related opportunities at American Baptist home mission locations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico as well of other mission related partners. Volunteer Ministries is comprised of the Volunteers In Mission program, Overland White Cross, Special Interest Missionaries, Special Mission projects and Vacation Bible School Mission projects.
White Cross is a program through which American Baptists provide needed support and supplies to diversified ministries within the mission program of National and International Ministries. White Cross is a much-needed service within our American Baptist family, to recipients at approximately 60 mission locations in the United States and Puerto Rico. It is a “shower of blessings” to many in emergency situations.
Hurricane Katrina Relief … American Baptists have not forgotten the victims affected by the devastation of Katrina on the Gulf Coast. ABC-USA is among several Baptist denominations providing volunteers to work on the “2007 Baptist Blitz”. “Baptist Builders” is a disaster response collaboration of Baptist organizations including the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, the District of Columbia Baptist Convention, the Progressive National Baptist Convention, the Alliance of Baptists and Baptist World Aid. In partnership with Habitat for Humanity, volunteers are rebuilding lives and hope while building houses. To see how you can get involved, please go to the following link.
