April is a time for fresh beginnings. As we celebrate the arrival of spring and a season of rebirth, American Baptist Homes and Caring Ministries is blessed to introduce several of its recently appointed board members.
Marie Carpenter serves as the director of elder care ministries for American Baptist Churches of Rhode Island. Carpenter’s role, which she was held for five years, is the only one of its kind among the American Baptist regions. In this unique position, she helps others understand that improvements in elder care are possible, even when finances are limited.
Betsy Perkins is the assistant ranch nurse and chaplaincy coordinator for Rainbow Acres, a ranch-style campus in Camp Verde, Arizona, that provides care for adults with developmental disabilities. She has been helping empower Rainbow Acres Ranchers since 2010 and began her chaplaincy work in 2012.
In June, we will introduce our two other new board members. It’s the hard work and dedication of these men and women that allow ABHCM to continue a tradition of community-building, while constantly meeting the needs of an ever-changing world. The leadership and devotion of our board members is an inspiration.
May this season’s fruitful blossoms be a constant reminder of God’s love.
Peace and blessings,
ABHCM Board President
