Rotary Manor is currently seeking an assistant administrator. Rotary Manor consists of 99 low income senior apartment homes located in San Rafael, California. Under general supervision of the property administrator, the assistant administrator sets up and maintains resident records and accounts receivables; performs secretarial functions; receives information from tenants in order to initiate and follow through with all aspects of resident initial move-in; performs annual re-certification and interim re-certification; enters information on computer; complies with HUD, regulations regarding notification, verification and record keeping; collects and receipts monthly rents using Onesite; prints out and monitors tenant assistance reports; provides information to prospective residents; schedules interviews with applicants; prepares all leasing documents for signatures; evaluates prospective residents’ financial profiles and determines rent schedules. The assistant administrator may perform and lead full-time, part-time and volunteer staff in the absence of the administrator, including instructing, assigning and reviewing work, maintaining standards, assisting in selection of new employees, recommending salary increases and assisting with disciplinary actions. The individual will assist the administrator in collecting information and figures for budget preparation and finalization, assist and support residents as appropriate through administrative services, prepare bank deposit and petty cash reconciliations, maintain wait list and contact applicants on wait list in accordance with facility schedule and maintain resident files.
Job requirements: knowledge of HUD and tax credit programs, understanding and working knowledge of rental software, clear writing and communication skills, ability to multi-task and must be a self-starter. High School diploma required; at least 2 years of experience as manager for affordable housing community or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
This position is classified as non-exempt, full-time with benefits.
